GNCC, in the contest held on May 31, 2016, for the issuance of a license for the use of radio frequency spectrum in order to ensure broadband services, including the implementation of fourth generation (4G) services, has announced “Magticom” Ltd as a winning bidder.

Commission has issued a written warning on “Georgian Central Communications Corporation” Ltd for violation of Copyright and Related Rights and has suspended authorization of broadcast transit of „TECHNOMAX LLP” Ltd due to continuous breaches.

GNCC has launched formal administrative proceedings based on a complaint submitted by the subscriber T.S against “Geocell” Ltd.

Today, Georgia celebrates 91st jubilee of first Georgian and one of the first European radios. The first radio broadcasting trial program was aired on May 23, 1925.

The Parliament of Georgia has made changes in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting” based on the Commission’s legislative proposal, according to which, the Commission’s  discretion has been determined  when issuing a sanction in a case of violation of norms defined by the law.

GNCC responds to recent publications disseminated in the media related to “Magticom” Ltd’s tariff politics.

The meeting has been held at GNCC with the representatives of “CGL” Ltd (www.adjaranet.com), “Imovies.ge” Ltd, “Silknet” JSC, “Iberia TV” Ltd, “Public Broadcaster” LEPL,  “Movie Distribution” Ltd and “GDS” Ltd in regard to the issue of the placement of inadmissible production in the web space (illegal feature films and TV shows). 

One of the most significant functions of GNCC is the governance of radio frequency spectrum and provision of its efficient usage on the Georgian territory, implementation of innovative communications technologies and optimal allocation of radio spectrum.
