Fourth Cohort of Comcom Media School Studio Has 10 Certified Journalists

The fourth cohort of the Media School Studio of the Communications Commission has produced 10 graduates who successfully completed the programme and received the appropriate certification. The graduates had the opportunity to acquire, free of charge, the knowledge and practical skills required for a career in journalism under the guidance of experienced professional mentors. Working in a dedicated newsroom created specifically for the programme, participants learned to produce media content independently and developed their own professional portfolios. Successful graduates will also receive recommendations from the Media School to prospective employers.

Over the course of the four-month practical programme, students received hands-on training in a newsroom designed exclusively for the Media School Studio. The curriculum covered the following topics: preparing television news bulletins, news reports and podcasts; camera operation; public speaking and on-camera presentation skills; news production for television and online platforms; audio editing and sound engineering; producing non-news television programmes and feature stories; video editing; interview preparation; and programme production and presentation.

Notably, 85% of graduates from the previous three Media School Studio cohorts are now employed by various media organisations.

Admission to the Media School Studio was based on a three-stage competitive selection process, during which candidates were evaluated through a written examination and oral interviews to identify the strongest applicants.

The Media School Studio of the Communications Commission offers aspiring journalists a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and professional experience entirely free of charge, with the aim of promoting higher journalistic standards and strengthening the quality of media in Georgia.
