Commercial Revenues of TV and Radio Broadcasters Increase by 46.7% in Q2 2026
In the second quarter of 2026, the total commercial advertising revenues of television and radio broadcasters increased by 46.7% year-on-year to GEL 25.8 million. In the case of TV broadcasters alone, revenues generated from commercial advertising increased by 53.5% to GEL 24 million. The television advertising revenue figures do not include data from Formula TV, due to the broadcaster’s failure to submit the required information.
In Q2 2026, direct advertising accounted for the largest share of the advertising revenues of TV broadcasters, generating 83% of the total. Product placement accounted for 10.6%, while sponsorship generated 6.3%. Announcements and teleshopping accounted for 0.05% and 0.01%, respectively.
In the case of radio broadcasters alone, advertising revenue in Q2 2026 decreased by 7.9% year-on-year to GEL 1.8 million. Of this amount, 86.8% was generated through direct advertising, 12.6% through sponsorship, and 0.6% through announcements.
Commercial advertising revenues include revenues from commercial advertising, sponsorship, product placement, teleshopping, and commercial announcements.
