ComCom Representatives Take Part in the 11th Annual BRAF Meeting

ComCom Media Service Regulation Department representative Tinatin Chachukashvili and IR Service representative Tamar Popiashvili took part at the 11th Annual Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF) and the working meeting organised by the Audiovisual Ciuncil of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ACRA).
The event involved a panel discussion on the subject of protection of children in media services, which included a presentation by ComCom representatives about the current developments and challenges in the Georgian broadcasting and media service sector, as well as ComCom’s efforts and achievements with regards to online protection of children.
The session discussed important issues such as the creation and development of a legal framework for the protection of children in media services, and the role of media literacy and parental control in ensuring children’s safety. During the session, participants discussed the latest developments in broadcasting regulation and the role of regulatory bodies in digital literacy. It is also worth noting that the Albanian regulator was elected as the next BRAF chair during the 11th annual meeting.
The Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum has been held annually since 2009. Member countries include Georgia, Turkey, Albania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Romania, Russia, Moldova, Greece, Ukraine and Serbia.
