ComCom Representative Takes Part in 63rd EPRA Meeting

Head of the Media Services Regulation Department of the Communications Commission, Konstantine Koridze, took part in the 63rd meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA). 

The meeting was hosted by the Audiovisual Media Authority of Albania (AMA). Its purpose was to share information on the current developments and discuss cooperation issues between EPRA members and permanent observers. 

The meeting included two interactive peer-learning sessions: “Making content available for all audiences” and “Classifying services in a fast-changing media market”. During these sessions, EPRA members discussed such important issues as: the role of platforms in creating the media environment; the use of innovative initiatives, artificial intelligence and other tools to ensure access to the digital environment; the introduction of new standards for inclusive development; the development and implementation of strategies required by regulators in a rapidly evolving environment; the challenges of modern media regulation; classification of new media services; existing legal frameworks, licensing models and notification systems, etc. 

Representatives of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Audiovisual Observatory and the Media Council also took part in the event. 

The European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) is a network of broadcasting regulators, which was founded in 1995 and includes 56 regulatory authorities from 47 countries. Georgia joined the EPRA network in 2013.
