ComCom Chairman Meets Radio Representatives

The Chairman of the Communications Commission, Goga Gulordava, and ComCom member Ivane Makharadze held a meeting with representatives of radio broadcasters. The meeting aimed to discuss the existing challenges and issues in the market. The Chairman introduced ComCom’s approaches and positions on current topical issues to the representatives of radio broadcasters. Goga Gulordava noted that close cooperation with radio broadcasters is important for the Commission in order to better understand their needs. He also emphasised that such formats of engagement would have a positive impact not only on the radio market, but also on the interests of listeners.

During the meeting, the representatives of radio broadcasters spoke about the issues relevant to them, including the advertising market and legislative regulations. The Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to engage in consultations regarding the issues raised by the broadcasters.

The working meeting with radio broadcasters was initiated by the Communications Commission. Notably, one of the first meetings held by the Chairman was with television broadcasters, where industry representatives had the opportunity to discuss key issues in the media environment and receive answers directly from the Chairman.
