ComCom Announces the 12th Edition of “Truth or Fiction?”

The Communications Commission has announced the 12th edition of the media literacy contest “Truth or Fiction?” for 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students. The contest, which aims to develop fact-checking and critical thinking skills, will run between 10 April and 10 May.

Participants are required to identify fake news in the media space (internet, television and printed media) that had not yet been confirmed as inaccurate. Using the format of their choice, the students then have to explain how they identified the information, present the relevant source and establish real facts surrounding the case. Competition winners will be selected by a competent jury panel. Winners will receive prizes from the Communications Commission, including an iPhone 16 Pro, a MacBook Air, and an iPad Air.

The Communications Commission has already held eleven editions of “Truth or Fiction?” – seven for school pupils and four for bachelor’s degree students. Furthermore, more than 2400 pupils and 900 university students have been trained in media literacy.

Detailed information about the contest can be found on the following link.
