GNCC releases statement related to the placement of pre-election video ad by political union “The Centrists” and later taking it off from the air of the Public Broadcaster.  

In accordance with the decision of GNCC, “Caucasus Online” Ltd has obtained a permit to use numbering resource on 1000 subscriber numbers.

Meeting has been held at GNCC with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) related to the project of Big Data processing.

In accordance with the decision of GNCC, an entity authorized for transit of broadcasting “Imer TV” Ltd has been fined in the amount of 9 000 GEL.

GNCC has made changes in the decisions to grant radio frequency spectrum in order to ensure  Free-to-Air digital terrestrial TV broadcasting to “Independent Broadcasting Space for Guria” Ltd and “Piki” Ltd and has revoked rights to use the noted resources of both companies.  

In accordance with the changes made in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting” that shall come into force starting August 10, 2016, minimum duration of TV broadcasting has been set to be12 hours per day.

GNCC draws its attention on increasing number of cases of hate speech aired by television and addresses broadcasters, as well as the participants of social-political programs to abide the legal and ethical norms.

GNCC has announced a contest in the city of Mestia for the issuance of license for usage to ensure digital terrestrial TV broadcasting based on an application submitted by NNLE “Shvania Television.”

At the session held on July 28, 2016, GNCC has approved the request submitted by NNLE “Poverty Reduction and Emergency Care, Kintsurashvili Charity Foundation Way of Future” in order to carry out a broadcasting authorization.
