TV Advertising Increased, While Radio Advertising Revenues Decreased

In the first quarter of 2021, total advertising revenues of television broadcasters increased by 3% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to GEL 14.5 million, whereby direct advertising and sponsorship account for GEL 13.2 million. TV Pirveli, Silknet, Formula, POSTV, GDS TV and RBG recorded increase in total advertising revenues, while the advertising revenues of Teleimedi, Rustavi 2, Mtavari Arkhi and the Georgian Public Broadcaster decreased.
Advertising revenues by channels were distributed as follows:
Teleimedi – GEL 5.3 million
Rustavi 2 – GEL 2.0 million
Mtavari Arkhi – GEL 1.9 million
TV Pirveli – GEL 1.2 million
Silknet – GEL 0.8 million
Formula – GEL 0.7 million
POSTV – GEL 0.7 million
GDS TV – GEL 0.6 million
RBG – GEL 0.2 million
Georgian Public Broadcaster – GEL 0.2 million
Others – GEL 1.0 million
Advertising revenues include direct advertising, sponsorship, product placement, announcements and teleshopping.
In the first quarter of 2021, advertising revenues of radio broadcasters decreased by 24% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to a total of GEL 1.4 million.
