Public defender for consumers interests acting together with the Georgian National Communications Commission – Tamta Tepnadze presented 2016 annual report of her office on the World Consumer Rights Day - 15 March 2017 at ”Tbilisi Rooms” hotel.

Public defender summarized activities implemented in 2016 for the purpose of protecting consumer’s rights and legal interests:

3. Problems of telecommunication market
4. Events planned for 2017

On the presentation communication ombudsmen highlighted following topics: need of raising public awareness in communication sphere, importance of prompt informing of consumers, necessity of quality control of telecommunication service, insecurity of personal information, prompt identification of the needs for the purpose of rights protection of persons with disabilities and appropriate reaction, important results of Commission’s resolutions issued in 2016 for the purpose of protecting consumers rights.

Objective of functioning of public defender’s office for consumer’s interests is to protect consumer’s rights and legal interests in electronic communications and broadcasting spheres.
