Georgia became a member of the European Audiovisual Observatory
Georgia became the member of European audiovisual observatory (www.obs.coe.int), GNCC represents our country in the organization. The observatory is the part of the Council of Europe which was founded in 1992. Its goal is to collect and disseminate information about Europe’s audiovisual industry. Observatory ensures information regarding European audiovisual markets and their funding; it analyzes and prepares reports on such issues, which impact different sectors of audiovisual industry. The observatory’s activities include following areas: film, broadcasting, call audiovisual services and other. Joining European audiovisual observatory will have a significant influence on implementing European standards and the development of audiovisual sector in our country. At the same time, this will contribute to our work on Obligations under Association Agreement, in particular, with implementation and further provision of Directive 2010/13/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 March 2010 on the coordination of certain provisions laid down by law, regulation or administrative action in Member States concerning the provision of audiovisual media services (Audiovisual Media Services Directive).
