The Communications Commission, Media Academy and the United States Embassy have jointly organised a training event for media managers, producers and presenters on the subject of Russian propaganda and ways of fighting it.

The event was led by the Director of the Russia Program at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), Brian Whitmore. CEPA studies political processes in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. Brian Whitmore was a senior analyst at Radio Liberty and worked as foreign correspondent for the Boston Globe in Moscow and Prague. He recently completed research on the harmful effects of Russian influence in Romania.

Brian Whitmore visited Georgia at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy.
