GNCC has issued written warnings on interrelated companies “Akhali Kselebi” Ltd and “Akhtel” Ltd for the violation of Copyright and Related Rights.

“Akhali Kselebi” Ltd and “Akhtel” Ltd which alongside with „TECHNOMAX LLP” Ltd offer broadcasting transit to subscribers, are violating Georgian laws “on Copyright and Related Rights” and “on Electronic Communications.”

As for „TECHNOMAX LLP“ Ltd itself, the Commission has sanctioned company numerous times. In the beginning, the company has been sanctioned in the amount of 5 000 GEL as defined in Article 144¹   of the Georgian “Administrative Code of Offenses” for the provision of electronic communications services without proper permits and licenses. Later, the company has obtained authorization for the transit of broadcasting at GNCC, however, the company has been sanctioned twice for the violation of Copyright and Related Rights, since, the documentation proving the ownership of Copyright and Related Rights presented by   „TECHNOMAX LLP“ Ltd, the company registered offshore, appeared to be invalid within Georgian territory. The statements in relation to the fact of violation of Copyright and Related Rights by the company noted submitted by operators authorized in the Commission, companies holding primary rights for the re-transmission of appropriate broadcasting channels as well as the foreign TV channel dealer companies (“Silknet” JSC, “Caucasus Online” Ltd,” “Cable Network Connection of Georgia” Ltd, also “Euro News”, “National Geographic”, “Fox” „Discovery“ etc) are presented in the Commission.  

The Commission has examined „CGC“ Ltd as well -an entity affiliated with “Akhali Kselebi” Ltd and “Akhtel” Ltd, the review of an issue will be held during Commission’s nearest session.
