GNCC has issued written warnings on “Gorda” Ltd and “IVERIA SAT” ltd due to the failure to submit information to the Commission.

On June 17, 2015, in accordance with the changes provided in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting,” TV broadcasting has become an authorized activity. The licensing authorization of all companies had been canceled automatically and the commission has launched re-registration (authorization) process of noted companies through departmental registry.  In accordance with the same changes, the law, from the point of view of the broadcasting, has caused the necessity to present the information about broadcasting language/languages, means of technology and alleged scope of the geographical area, funding plan and sources and to fill out the property declaration.

The Commission has sent numerous written requests in order to present above-mentioned information to “Groda” Ltd and “IVERIA SAT” Ltd. However, the companies have left Commission’s letters without any response. The Commission has discussed the issue at public hearing and decided to issue written warnings on these companies. The Commission has assigned “Groda” Ltd and “IVERIA SAT” Ltd to present information immediately.
