Commission took part in discussion around Georgian law “on Broadcasting” at the meeting organized by “CSR Club”
The chairman of the Georgian National Communications Commission Mr. Vakhtang Abashidze and the representatives of the Commission’s office took part in discussion organized by “Corporate Social Responsibility Club.” The meeting was held at the “Rooms” hotel and aside from the members of “CSR club,” it has been attended by the members of broadcasting companies and non-governmental organizations.
The subject of discussion was concerning the definition of regulations of commercial advertising, sponsorship and product placement envisaged in the Georgian law “on Broadcasting. The heads of the Commission’s broadcasting regulation and informational-analytical departments showcased presentations to the public, the changes made in the law have been assessed, the current applicable law norms have been defined, and also, the latest data of the broadcasters’ advertising revenue has been presented to the public as well.
The important topic of discussion was related to the coverage practice of the activities provided in the scope of social responsibility and current legislative regulations. Georgian National Communications Commission and “Corporate Social Responsibility Club” which unites almost 70 private companies, have agreed on future co-operation.
