Communications Commission informs the ITU Regional Forum for Europe about the Current Situation regarding 5G Development in Georgia
Representatives of the Communications Commission took part in the International Telecommunication Union’s Regional Forum for Europe, which discussed important issues such as 5G implementation strategy, as well as policy development and implementation. Apart from ITU member states, the forum was attended by several regional organisations such as the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg), which has already been chaired by ComCom twice, in 2015 and 2019.
During the meeting, which discussed the national 5G strategies and policies of non-EU countries, ComCom representative informed the participants about the current situation regarding 5G development in Georgia. He also talked about the 5G strategy and regional agreement on spectrum management, which has been initiated by the Communications Commission with the aim to harmonise the spectrum in the Eastern Partnership region.
