ComCom Chairman Meets Small and Medium Telecom Operators

Chairman of the Communications Commission, Goga Gulordava, met with representatives of small and medium telecom service providers to discuss the current state of the telecom market. The meeting discussed the key issues necessary for improving the market conditions, including the access to and the use of fixed infrastructure, service pricing, interconnection points, global internet access, as well as service speed and quality. 

The representatives of small and medium telecom operators provided information on the challenges and barriers that they face in their operations. Goga Gulordava presented the Commission’s vision and reaffirmed the readiness for close cooperation with business representatives to ensure more effective joint efforts. 

“Small and medium operators are a crucial component of the telecom sector. I am pleased that we have agreed on close cooperation, as the active involvement and effective operation of these companies are essential to ensuring a competitive telecom market and enabling consumers to receive diverse high-quality services,” Goga Gulordava stated. 

At the end of the meeting, at the initiative of the Chairman of the Commission, the parties agreed to establish a working group that will jointly address the issues related to enhancing competition in the telecom sector.
